I have added some new things. One especially interesting item is Burke's Peerage & Gentry. In 1999 rights to update and publish Burke's Landed Gentry became available. At that point a new company was formed, Burke's Landed Gentry, and so after a gap of thirty years, a team of genealogists worked to produce the 19th edition of Burke's Landed Gentry, Volume 1, Kingdom in Scotland. This was published in August 2001 as a printed book and online database. English and Welsh articles from the 18th edition are also available online and are currently being updated as family information is received.

Each of the family records has been meticulously researched by a team of professional genealogists to ensure the information is accurate and reliable. There are more than 1 million names in 15,000+ family records, gathered from the following collections:

  • Burke's Peerage & Baronetage 107th Edition, including Knights, Scottish Chiefs and Scottish Feudal Barons
  • Burke's Landed Gentry 19th Edition, The Kingdom in Scotland
  • Burke's Landed Gentry 19th Edition, The Ridings of York
  • Burke's Landed Gentry 19th Edition, The Principality of Wales
  • Burke's Landed Gentry 19th Edition, The North West
  • Burke's Landed Gentry 18th Edition
  • Burke's Landed Gentry Irish Families (Irish supplement to the 15th Ed. of Burke's Landed Gentry)
  • Burke's American Families with British Ancestry
  • Burke's American Presidential Families
  • Burke's British Prime Ministers
Each record has been digitised and marked up for experienced and first time users to quickly search and find information. The generations of each family are colour coded and indented, which makes the record easier to read.

You can search on the family name associated with the record, or on any person's name appearing within the record. You can restrict the search to people who were born, married or died within a specified period, to places associated with a person, to particular geographic regions or to particular publications. The search term is highlighted in the full record to allow you quickly to find occurrences of that search term within the record.
